Immunizations are not in conflict with the Catholic faith. Conscientious objections or waivers do not qualify as an exception to this policy."

St. Mary's Catholic School Tuition Assistance Scholarship program is based upon financial need and the availability of funds. Tuition assistance is given on the assumption that the family is allocating the maximum amount of resources it can to the educational costs of its children, and that the family has arranged its priorities with educational costs at the top of the list, after necessary expenses.
Students receiving scholarships are expected to maintain commendable academic standing, attendance, behavior, effort, and citizenship. Families receiving assistance are expected to maintain timely tuition and fees payments throughout the year.
St. Mary's Catholic School Tuition Assistance Scholarship program is initiated and processed through the FACTS Grant & Aid system. A $45 application fee for each family seeking assistance is due upon submission of your application.
The parish/school tuition assistance scholarships are awarded on a first-come, first-served, verified financial need basis. Tuition Assistance Scholarships are a supplement to your family's financial contribution to your child's tuition.
Our tuition assistance scholarship committee will notify you via email of your scholarship award. You will be asked to formally accept or decline your scholarship assistance award. To ensure that your first tuition payment will reflect your award, please complete and submit your FACTS Grant & Aid application in a timely manner.
Existing families may access the Grant & Aid application from your “Financial” tab when you log into FACTS SIS/Family Portal. Your current account with SMCS must be in good standing in order to receive a tuition assistance scholarship for the following year.
Through the new Texas school choice program, the Education Freedom Accounts (TEFA), Catholic education may now be within reach for more families. Eligible students may qualify for $10,000 per year to help cover approved educational expenses, including tuition, materials, and services.
Because the TEFA program may have more applicants than available funds, students are grouped into four prioritization categories. These categories determine the order in which applications are considered. Priority 1: Special needs students and from families making up to $160,000* for a family of four (500% of the FPG), including currently enrolled public and private school students.
Special needs students are eligible for more funding - up to $30,000 per year.
Priority 2: Children from families making up to $64,300* for a family of four (200% of the FPG).
Priority 3: Children from families making between $64,300 to $160,000* (200-500% of the FPG).
*Income levels are approximate.
Priority 4: Everyone else depending on available funds. Students who switched to private schools will go ahead of currently enrolled private school students (in this category only).
Funding for Priority 4 is capped at 20% of the total appropriation in the TEFA program.
